A little preparation helps me understand your situation fully at your first appointment, and means that we can spend our time on what matters most to you.

Reports and letters

  • Scan reports from any previous ultrasound or MRI scans, and the images themselves if you have them on a disc or a download link.
  • Operation notes and discharge letters from any previous surgery, including caesarean sections and procedures inside the womb.
  • Letters from your GP or from other specialists you have seen about the same problem.
  • Blood results from the past year, if you have them.
  • Reports from your fertility clinic, if you are having fertility treatment, including any hysteroscopy or scan reports.

If you can, send copies before your appointment, so that I can review them in advance: my secretary, Helen, at pa@migynaecology.com, will send you a secure link to upload them.

Practical details

  • Your insurer’s pre-authorisation number, if you are using private medical insurance, and your membership number.
  • A list of your current medicines, including the contraceptive pill, HRT or any supplements, and any allergies.
  • The date your last period started, and a rough idea of your usual cycle.
  • If your symptoms come and go, a short diary of when they happen can be very helpful.

On the day

  • Wear something comfortable, in case I need to examine you or perform a scan.
  • Write down the questions you would like to ask, so that nothing is forgotten.
  • You are welcome to bring someone with you. A chaperone is always available for any examination.

If you have any questions before your appointment, my secretary, Helen, will be happy to help on 07757 310098.
