Giving feedback
You can tell me about your experience at any time, in person, through my secretary, Helen, or in writing. The hospitals where I work also invite feedback after every visit, and independent feedback about my practice is published by the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN (opens in a new tab)).
Raising a concern or making a complaint
Many concerns can be resolved quickly by talking them through. If you would like to raise a concern, please contact Helen Wood, my private secretary, by email or telephone, marking it "Complaint, for the personal attention of Mr Haider Jan". She will make sure I see it personally.
- email pa@migynaecology.com
- telephone 07757 310098
Please include your name, contact details, the date and place of your care, and what you would like to happen as a result. If you are complaining on behalf of someone else, I will need their written permission.
What happens next
- I will acknowledge your complaint within three working days.
- I will look into it fully and fairly, which may include reviewing your records and, with your permission, speaking to the hospital involved.
- I aim to send you a full written response within 20 working days. If I need longer, I will tell you why and keep you informed.
- If you would find it helpful, I am happy to meet you to talk it through.
Raising a concern will not affect your care in any way.
Complaints about care at a hospital
If your complaint is about your care at a hospital, such as nursing care, facilities or hospital charges, you may also raise it directly with that hospital, which has its own complaints procedure. Where a complaint involves both my care and the hospital's, we will work together so that you receive a single, joined-up response.
- Spire St Anthony's Hospital : Spire Healthcare website (opens in a new tab)
- Ashtead Hospital : Ramsay Health Care website (opens in a new tab)
- Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital : Nuffield Health website (opens in a new tab)
Complaints about care at the CRP Clinic are handled by the CRP Clinic itself, through its own complaints procedure.
If you are not satisfied with the response
- For private care at an independent hospital, complaints that have been through the hospital's process can be referred to the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service (ISCAS (opens in a new tab)) only if that hospital subscribes to it; the hospital's complaints procedure will tell you whether it does. Otherwise, the hospital's own procedure explains the next step.
- If your care was funded by the NHS, you can ask the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (opens in a new tab) to review it.
- Concerns about a doctor's fitness to practise can be raised with the General Medical Council (opens in a new tab).
- Concerns about how your personal information has been handled can be raised with the Information Commissioner's Office (opens in a new tab); see the privacy notice.
