You should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software

- use the website with JavaScript switched off, except for the spam check on the enquiry form

I have also made the text as simple as possible to understand, and every medical term is explained in plain English when it is first used.

How accessible this website is
I know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- the spam check on the enquiry form (Cloudflare Turnstile) usually runs invisibly, but occasionally asks you to confirm that you are human, which may be difficult with some assistive technology; you can always telephone or email my secretary, Helen, instead
- diagrams are described in text, but their detail may be easier to follow in the surrounding text and the key beneath each diagram

The booking buttons take you to hospital websites, which are run by the hospitals and may not meet the same standard. Hospital booking systems and other websites that this website links to are not covered by this statement.
What I am doing to improve accessibility
Every new page is checked before it is published, and the website is retested whenever the design changes. Leaflets added in PDF form will also be published as web pages.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 4 October 2026. The website was tested before launch on 4 October 2026, using automated testing (axe and Lighthouse) on every page, manual keyboard testing, checks with the browser zoomed to 400%, and checks with JavaScript switched off and in dark mode.
